In the FAQ it says that [0]Sound Blaster CD ROMS are OK. Did i misunderstand this ? FreeBSD 2.1.0 only supports proprietary Creative Labs 2x drives that connect to the CREATIVE/PANASONIC interface on the card. It says this in HARDWARE.TXT. The 386bsd/netbsd/FreeBSD FAQ posted regularly in this group is too generic in this area (corrections have been sent to the maintainer). However, the 4X drives from Creative are mostly IDE drives, which use the ATAPI.FLP boot floppy, not the BOOT.FLP floppy. Look at the information related to IDE drives and follow those suggestions.
