These are features that are available under FreeBSD too.  Specifically,
the neato color-coded ls has nothing to do with the OS.  It probably
would be rather easy to port.

Yep.  It's only less user friendly if you're not used to the BSD
way of doing things.  If you're more of a system V person, linux
might be a bit more familiar to you.

I've used both and they both have their place.  Personally, if I was
just trying to set up a quick little X-machine on my desk, I'd go
with Linux.  For a workhorse internet-box, I'd go with FreeBSD or
BSD/OS.
