Is it possible to mount an msdos extended partition with freebsd 2.1.0 ?

I've had no problems mounting a primary dos partition, but I want to mount
a dos partition from inside the extended dos partition. (gotta say the dos
idea of disk partitioning makes about as much sense as using dos!)

Also, I recently had an evil incident with fsck, I don't know what it did,
but appear to have a minor problem with some programs not being able to
find /lib/ld.so, is this really where ld.so should reside and if not where?
Also if what I suspect has happened which .tgz do I need to download and pull
apart to get ld.so back again ???

Many Thanks..
Steve.
(P.S. if anyone can help email would be best probably)
