Anyway... this thread has brought up lots of good points -- the
problem is, noone at Matrox is seeing it. According to their message,
they couldn't care less about unix/linux -- hence they wouldn't be
reading the groups that this thread is on. Perhaps it might not be a
bad idea to simply write up a statement that declares that we believe
that Matrox releasing programming information for their cards will not
hurt them, and perhaps -if- we can get a thousand or so people to sign
it saying that they will not buy matrox products and will use their
influence to move their companies and any friends away from purchasing
Matrox products -- only then might Matrox care. Because now, they
certainly don't.

At the very least, we would deserve to get a message from someone
realtively high up in matrox stating their position in clear terms,
and not a reply from some overworked frazzled tech support guy. (All
my mails from matrox tech support came from the same guy.. I guess
they only have one person in tech support :-P)
