I tried doing a "kernel -c", but that didn't help. The install program simply doesn't have an ethernet option available for me. I ended up telling it to set up lp0 and then later editing the /etc/rf file by hand to change it to ep0. This is a 3Com 3C509 card. Is there something I missed? When I tried to do a restore from tape for my personal files, all the files extracted with root as the owner. I tried using the --same-owner option, but that didn't work either. Is there another option that I need to use so that I can back up and restore from tape and still maintain the original owner and permissions on the files? I'd really appreciate and pointers that anyone has. Thanks, Keith ***************************************************************************** * Keith A.
