For LILO, the FreeBSD partition looks the same as a DOS partition, it simply
uses the chain loader to load the boot blocks.

# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig' and hand-enhanced
#
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/sda
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems.
delay = 50
vga = normal # force sane state
ramdisk = 0     # paranoia setting
# End LILO global section
# FreeBSD bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/sda3

  alias = bsd
  table = /dev/sda
  #password = foo
  #restricted
# FreeBSD bootable partition config ends
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /vmlinuz
  root = /dev/sda2

  alias = l
  read-only # Non-UMSDOS filesystems should be mounted read-only for checking
  #password = bar
  #restricted
# Linux bootable partition config ends
# DOS bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/sda1

  table = /dev/sda
  #password = baz
# DOS bootable partition config ends
