If you are using the newer 3C589C model (as aooposed to the 'B' or no letter model) it will not work. However, this has been fixed in both -stable and -current, and you can use the Nomad boot floppies (mentioned in the same thread) to get your system running and upgrade to -stable source, where it will work.
