I'm getting crashes while copying lots of files from a cdrom to my msdos
slice.

I have an Adaptec 1742 EISA SCSI controller. The HD is a Seagate SCSI.
The cdrom is an NEC 6x SCSI.

My system uses the latest stable build.

The error says sometime about a "timeout" and then rapidly locks up.

What is the main cause of this?
Would inserting "sleep"s to slow down the copying help?

I am definately not running into space problems.

Thanks
