Most of my users run Slirp v1.0c and it seems that when the system gets pretty loaded every now and then I get a trap 12 vm error the system dumps and reboots. I was told there was a known bug in bsd and 2.1 fixes this. I put up asyncd, even put up 3 of them but this still happens. Seems to be happening when free pages of mem (systat -vmstat 2) gets down to a few hundred and then paging starts to pick up. Is this an common occurance due to my memory size (I often have 16 to 18 people online running slirp/pine/lynx/etc... Or is this error due to something more subtle like a bug. Is there any kind of faq out there on how to figure out some of the info from the panic dump/ trap info that bsd puts up before rebooting?. Anyone with more knowledge of how to calc memory needs, please email me or let me know of anything you can to help. thanks very much.
