Can you blame them? > 2. Name one product available for both platforms that works better on > the Macintosh than on an Intel machine. I'll trade you Photoshop & Director for the MS Office suite. Now that that is out of the way, how about Clarisworks or FileMaker? How about you name a product that is on both platforms that's better on a PC? I sure can't think of one. > 3. I'm too polite to post a list of well over 500 Mac only commercial applications, but I will give you my list of major apps that shipped for the Mac first. There are a lot more, I'm sure, including TCP access in 1985 and MacTCP in 1987. The signal to noise ratio in these newsgroups was a lot better before Winsock came along (1993?), I might add. MS Word, MS Excel, Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator, Astound (Gold Disk), Canvas, Pagemaker, QuarkXPress, Framemaker, FoxBase (now FoxPro), Filemaker Pro, ClarisWorks, Aldus TouchBase, 4th Dimension, Myst, Marathon, KidPix, Kai's Power Tools, FirstClass, QuickMail, Adobe Type Manager, Adobe Acrobat, Common Ground, DeltaGraph, KaleidaGraph, Fontographer, LabView, Adobe Premiere, Persuasion, TrueType, SmallTalk, Anarchie, Eudora, Mosaic, Netscape, Turbogopher, the "Sim" games by Maxis Software, RAM Doubler, Roaster Professional (Java) YoYo (Big Island), Virtus Voyager, and SiteMill/PageMill (Adobe) JW -- John Warwick john_warwick@mindlink.bc.ca
