Get a good book about Unix basics. BSD is Unix, despite of it not being able to use the name UNIX(TM in some countries, not in mine :). You can read the FAQ and handbook under /usr/share/doc/FAQ and /usr/share/doc/handbook with a Web browser (like Lynx from the ports), but that will only enlighten you about FreeBSD specifics. Sorry, we cannot provide you with a Unix tutorial. Have a look at my home page (see below), there's a link into a site providing a Unix primer.
