Hien ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Cameron Spitzer 764-6339 <camerons@nad.3com.com> 88-open compliant binaries run on Motorola 88K processors. Try the Xenix version. [additional message] There *is* an "Application Binary Interface" for System V on the [34]86. I was real disappointed to find out Linux doesn't use it. Don't know why he doesn't either. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Thomas David Rivers <sastdr@unx.sas.com> Ngo - 88 Open Compliant applies to Motorola 88000 architectures (like Data General's AViiON product line.) There is a similar standard applicable for '386-based unix boxs, but 386BSD and Linux do not (as yet) conform to that standard. - Dave Rivers - (rivers@ponds.uucp (home)) (sastdr@unx.sas.com (work))
