Currently have no network attached (PCMCIA ethernet card is not supported - it's a (!) Xircom - BTW a lady from Xircom called me and she said she could give information for anyone wishing to write a driver because they have had serious backlash for not supporting FreeBSD/Linux - but that's another thread). Would like to configure either the loopback interface or a dummy interface to respond to an IP address so I can run a WWW server for development on this machine. How should I set up the ifconfig so that I have a dummy interface, and secondly, if I want to use PPP will it be OK if my PPP interface has the same address as the dummy inerface ? i.e. I want my machine to answer as 123.456.789.123 when not connected via PPP, and also WHEN connected via PPP. I know this can be done on other Unices (I've done it on Linux, SGI and Slowaris) so any tips/pointers/help would be much appreciated. -Pat
