I didn't use GoodStuff in Fvwm 1.24; but I am using it now in Fvwm 2.0.41 and I haven't had any problems with my pixmaps appearing funny. I realize that doesn't mean you might be free of the problem if you upgrade, but ... try upgrading anyway! Actually, there's a new FvwmButtons that'll be integrated into Fvwm 2.0.42 (or maybe later) which looks really nice.
