You mean ``starts to run'' (i.e., >the ``twiddle'' stopped turning)? > >I suspect memory problems. I would aggree. Just this past week I was working on a brand new Gateway that had windows 3.1 on it. I was supposed to install windows 95. It was one of the really fast pentiums. It did not have to be delivered to its final owner for a couple of weeks and so I tried to install bsd on it. I could not get it to run. No way, no how. I fiddled around with it for two weeks. No luck. It would do the same thing that this guy discribes, the twiddle would spin for 10-15 seconds and then it would hard reset. I had to get it delivered, so I set about doing the win 95 install. I could not get that to install either. I had tons of really odd errors and lock ups. Ended up that I swapped out the SIMMS and then it worked perfect. I did not have time to go back and try a bsd install but I bet it would have worked. --ja
