You might be surprised to learn that the Star Office package is being ported to Linux and will be soon released free of charge for noncommercial use. StarOffice is an office automation package (word processor, spread sheet, drawing tool) that runs on multiple platforms, including Win32, OS/2, the Mac, and Solaris.
