I am running 2.0.5, the FAQ's report that new support may be added to 2.1 for large disk units. I have 2.1 CDROM, but have not had the opportunity to rebuild due to production environment. Working on second unit, moving all production work to primary so I can if necessary upgrade to 2.1 Connected unit to wide scsi (Adaptec 2940W PCI). The unit is found by the probes and reports back: /kernel: (ahc0:3:0): "CMD TECH VIPER A2-3" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 /kernel: sd1(ahc0:3:0): Direct-Access 20478MB (41940480 512 byte sectors) disklabel report bad drive geometry, but see disk unit correctly. Unable to partition. Have reviewed /etc/disktab, but am unsure of what to do. My question are: 1. Disk units > 2GB on FreeBSD - do I have to go up to 2.1 to be supported? 2. Is there Max partition sizes in FreeBSD? Will I have to partition to something like 2GB. 3. Drive Geometry?, In the package were Ultrix and SunOS 4.1.x Drive Geometry settings. Can I use the Ultrix disktab with a little translation from the FreeBSD "disktab" man page? David A. Roger MIS, Titan Information Systems, Inc. San Diego, CA daroger@tisc.com
