A: P5 running 16 bit apps is faster than p6 running 16 bit apps at SAME clock speed. For 32 bit apps, a P6 turns a P5 into a grease spot. The Power PC chip is faster, but has far fewer os's that can run on it. NetBSD, OS/2, WinNT, MacOS, and NeXTstep are the only ones I can think of. The day FreeBSD will run on a power pc, I am there...until that day comes, you can keep it. Jamie I have my finger on the pulse of the planet.
