Funny, I've never had that happen with any Mac I've owned, from my first 512 with a 1200 baud modem, to my Performa 630CD with a 14.4, to my university's PowerMacs with T1, T4, and ISDN lines. That's in 10 years of using just about every Macintosh ever made. > takes hours to boot up....... Runs damm quick, and it's not even close to the max amount of RAM. However, it was the same speed when I had the original 8 MB of RAM. > takes lots of money to buy one My 630CD, from the factory, 8MB of RAM, 500MB IDE drive, and 2xCD-ROM, cost me $1100. I've since upgraded the RAM, installed a TV/Video card, ($240), a Connectix QuickCam, ($89), and a Sony 15" Multiscan monitor, ($349). I'll note that the RAM, QuickCam, TV/Video card, and monitor were the same prices as the same thing for the PC, (and for that matter, in the case of the RAM SIMMs and the Sony Monitor, could be used on either PC or Mac.) > no games! MYST? hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! And Doom, Doom II, X-Wing, Rebel Assault I & II, Wing Commander, SimCity 2000, Marathon, Sam & Max, etc., etc., etc. Plus, TIE Fighter, Quake, and Decent are all planned within a few months. Many companies now release their games for both platforms, and LucasArts even enhances the graphics and sounds for their Mac versions. > you only have Mac OS to play with Actually I also have MacBSD on a old Mac IIsi. However, I can also run, though other programmes on top of the MacOS, Windows & Unix. > Long live LINUX! Esp. the version for the PowerPC Macintosh that OSF and Apple are bringing out this summer.
