You can use the gcc that comes with 386BSD-0.1 to compile ALL X11R5-pl.17
and OSF/Motif 1.1.x
I have done it with absolutely no problems.
I also compiled mxgdb (frontend to gdb) and xgen both of which use
X11R5 and Motif.
