I had XFree86 1.1 up and running fine a few days ago. Then I did
something to break it: I decided to start a new source tree so that
I could apply all of Terry's patchkit patches. Since I got everything
fixed up and a new kernel built, I can't run X. When I start the
server, it flips to graphics mode, blanks the screen and never
draws anything. The programs are running (server, xterm, etc) because
I can type 'exit' and it switches back to text mode like everything
is fine.

I have even tried going back to my last (pre-patchkit) kernel that
was working, and it does the same thing! Does anybody have any
idea what's going on or at least a starting point for debugging inside
the server?
