Hell, the top 3 make up ~60% and they are UNIX servers. Let's get real everyone. Neither Windoze or Mac's have what it takes in real world applications. The best CAD software isn't on Intel or Motorola CPU's, it's on RISC CPU's, the best networking is on unix systems. Both the Mac and PC have SERIOUS limitations in I/O that even a lowly Sparc2 outperforms. Both Mac's and PC's have their place on the desktop, and Mac's gave us decent desktop publishing long before it was available on PCs. Apple finally realized that to stay alive, they had to give up using proprietary technology, and they are still losing money, something like $1.4 mil in last 2 quarters. Personally, I don't care for EITHER architecture, nor do I like either OS (but then again, I haven't met an OS I did like) and this arguement does NOT belong in comp.unix.bsd.misc, because neither Mac or Windoze is unix. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jim Sloan jsloan@livenet.net Vice President LiveNet, Inc. 413 Davis St. Suite 106 Full Service Internet Provider Virginia Beach VA 23462 Dialup and dedicated connections Ph: 804-499-9328 Virtual Web, Email, and FTP hosting http://www.livenet.net info@livenet.net webmaster@livenet.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------
