Hi Folks,
I have this strange feeling I may be misconfigured on the ethernet side
of things. Read on and see what you think. I am running 2.1R
I have an ethernet card set to: 203.9.159.1
from this machine I run a slip port: 203.9.159.1 -> 139.130.3.73
203.9.159.1 acts as the router for incoming slip/ppp connections
If a slip/ppp user is not logged in and a packet of data is received for
them I get this when I do a netstat -r (just for interests sake I'll add
the top part of my netstat -r command)
Internet:
Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif Expire
default Async1.smi1.darwin UGSc 58 124669 sl0
localhost localhost UH 0 323 lo0
203.9.159.0 link#1 UC 0 0
gypsy 0:40:95:60:70:bc UHLW 5 6396 lo0
pigdog 0:40:c7:21:3e:bc UHLW 7 425564 ed0 1104
lopaloma 0:40:c7:21:3d:2e UHLW 0 814 ed0 643
lorikeet link#1 UHLW 0 10
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
this appears...
I find if I delete the 203.9.159.1 on the ed0 interface
the link#1 problem goes away. Of course I can't then communicate with the
rest of my ethernet network.
The phantom link#1 seems to go away after a minute or two.
Can anyone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?
Robert
