You are right, but personally I find dosemu as an overkill. I don't like
current development direction of dosemu - run everything, even at the expense
of resources. Many programs which can be run inside dosemu
have their native unix counterparts. I would like to see a small dosemu
version running a subset of dos programs...

Sure. It is an IBM PC part-of-hardware and BIOS emulator...
