I once bought a system for my office and checked out EVERYTHING! Reviews on the DAT drive indicated that it was RELIABLE, as many HERE even stated, but it WASN'T! Warrantees weren't honored, though I got little in writing. I DID catch discrepancies in the salesperson, of the main system, but he apparantly settled them. In the end, the hard disk controller was NOTHING like what was quoted! Other things were amiss. Heck, the DPT EISA controller on the 486DX/50 with high speed iSCSI drives actually runs at HALF the speed of my 386/40 system with a 1542CF ISA controller and slower drives! Unfortunately, my boss, nad the companies, set things up so I had NO window of opportunity to correct such things! The system was actually finished only hours before the old system was moved out. Fortunately, the old microvax was SO slow, that the new system was SPEEDY in comparison. My point, however, is that even the SALESPEOPLE will intentially misquote. This guy claimed I ordered what I didn't. EACH time I found a descrepancy, I had to call the MFG and SCO to verify compatibility. The last change was one I was NOT apprised of. Steve
