The PC I have installed the 386BSD only has a 40 meg HD. I had originally intended installing only a minimal system with the necessary NFS binaries. Then, NFS mount a system here on the campus with much more space to do the rest of the installation. The problem is, 386BSD won't mount HPUX 7.0 or 8.0 disks via NFS. It gives an RPC MNT error. Here is the major problem. I can't recompile the kernel by adding any patches because I don't have enough disk space. I can't NFS mount any more space because of bugs on either the 386BSD end or the HPUX end. So I am at the mercy of those who can recompile the kernel. Now for my question. Can anyone send, mail, or ftp me a patched kernel that fixes whatever NFS bugs there are? Can anyone tell me how to NFS mount HPUX with the current kernel I am running? FYI, I am running the XFree86 kernel as to get rid of the 'startart' bug. So, whatever kernel I do acquire must patch the 'startart' bug, any NFS bugs and whatever is necessary to run X (either X386 or XFree86, at this point I'm not particular). Can anyone help me? -- Brian Wright /// /// ONLY Amiga wright@merlin.etsu.edu \\\ /// makes it possible! wright%merlin.etsu.edu@ricevm1.rice.edu \\X// ETSU HPUX System Administrator
