First, there is no thing that says that one or the other must "win". Both OSs have their strong points. IMHO, FreeBSD seems to be more stable and reliable. Linux seems to have newer software and more support. But that is just my opinion. Just because I run FreeBSD doesn't mean that Linux must die.
