Well, to be honest the question itself was pretty senseless and thus not
one likely to inspire intelligent replies!

It was senseless because it's not specific enough to make any answer
other than "whatever *needs* to be changed, dude!" the right one.  You
have a simple porting problem, so port it!  If, once you've embarked
down that road, you have any *specific* questions that cannot be easily
answered by referring to the sources to tcpdump, nacctd and (if
necessary) parts of FreeBSD itself, then this is a good group to ask.  

If you just want to know how to port software in general or lack the
programming abilities to port UNIX software at all, then I can only
recommend a good book.
