I'm using the Adaptec APA-1460 PCMCIA SCSI card, and the : >> SMC PCMCIA ethernet card. : New PC-card installation floppy for 2.1.0R supports APA-1460 SlimSCSI : PCMCIA, but it does not support SMC PCMCIA ethernet card. If I have : SMC PCMCIA ehternet card, I can hack it, but I (and my friends) don't : have this card. You can get this floppy from : ftp://bash.cc.keio.ac.jp/pub/os/FreeBSD/alpha-test/pccard-flp/pccard-flp-960418.tar.gz : unzipped floppy image binary can be got from, : ftp://bash.cc.keio.ac.jp/pub/os/FreeBSD/alpha-test/pccard-flp/pccard-flp-960418/pccboot.flp : Does anyone know the type of core chip that SMC ethernet card uses? : If it is NE2000-compatible or SMC-9000 series-compatible, FreeBSD will : be able to drive this card without considerable efforts. I believe that it's a 16bit NE2000 with 16k of high memory. However, I couldn't get it to work with the pccard stuff last time I tried (around January or Febuary) - in fact, I couldn't get any NE2000 stuff to work for me (I have a "GoldCard" NE2000 clone), that's why I went and bought a 3com card. : -- : HOSOKAWA, Tatsumi E-mail: hosokawa@mt.cs.keio.ac.jp : WWW homepage: http://www.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/person/hosokawa.html : Department of Computer Science, Keio University, Yokohama, Japan -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour....
