=I have an intermittent problem with an Adaptec 1542 and a pretty new
=NEC CDR-222 4x CDROM. The system frequently hangs while doing CDROM
=access and the FreeBSD driver scribbles something on the screen to the
=effect of AHA (0:6:0) has timed out (ID 6 is the CDROM). Has anyone
=else seen this noise. I rather doubt its the CDROM since its new and
=seems to work fine under other OSs.

Same here :( NEC CDROM, Adaptec 7850... Can not even install :(
When it comes to copying from CD-ROM (either by install or when
I try manually), machine _almost_ hangs filling the debug screen
with ahc-warnings... I'm going to try different SCSI and EISA
settings today...
