I need a utility that runs under SunOS (or Solaris) that will compress =files so I can store them on diskettes, take the diskettes home, and =uncompress them on my PC ( maybe using PKZIP, but any DOS uncompression =utility will be fine). I need it fast!! =email me at jmcfarla@foxboro.com zip/unzip . Take them from garbo.uwasa.fi:/unix/arcers . It can easily be built on any Unix I know (also a part of FreeBSD's ports collection) and on NT. If given `-k' option, zip will create an archive suitable for pkunzip. Not as efficient as gzip, though, but handles multiple files and, again, is compatible with pkzip/pkunzip. -mi -- "Windows for dummies"
