Message-ID: <BwELyv.5uH@watserv1.uwaterloo.ca> Keywords: bug 386bsd kernel network Sender: news@watserv1.uwaterloo.ca Organization: University of Waterloo Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1992 05:01:42 GMT Lines: 18 Forgive me if this bug has been mentioned/fixed already. I didn't see any mention of it in either the FAQ or the patchkit. Whenever I do anything that involves heavy network access, such as an FTP or an rcp, the kernel panics with a vm_fault. Usually this happens fairly quickly, but sometimes it will work for several minutes before the panic. Also, the message "reject 65334" is often displayed on the console several times. I would give more details from the panic message, but for some reason on my system, it reboots right away before I have a time to read it. Details of my configuration: 386SX, 5meg of RAM, SMC Elite16 Ethernet card, Kernel from the 0.1 release (no patches), we0 device driver as configured in the 0.1 release. (One potential problem I did notice - the we0 driver seems to be configured for 8K of RAM in the ethernet card, but mine has 16K - would this cause problems?) ------------ Dave Shewchn (shewchun@boomer.uwaterloo.ca)
