I installed FreeBSD 2.1-Current on an older 486 machine to run a mailing
list on (Majordomo), and now that that's working fairly well, I want to
add an irc server to it to host a related weekly chat. I don't care
about connecting to other irc servers.

The problem is that I can't get it to work, and can't find any decent
documentation. It's the one available in the Ports collection
(ircd2.8.21 I think is the version).

Has anybody here set it up successfully? Help! :)
