You can get it from ftp://ryukyu.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/pub/FreeBSD/pccard/pccard-test-960506.tar.gz (Note that we changed the ftp site because bash.cc.keio.ac.jp is unstable these days.) Please read http://www.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/person/hosokawa/freebsd-pcmcia/ for details. This package contains the device drivers, the manager daemon, and the maintainance utilities for PCMCIA cards under FreeBSD 2.2-960501-SNAP. (BTW, have 2.2-960501-SNAP already had PC-card and APM stuff? Yes. Part of OUR package has been incorporated into 2.2-SNAP, but this code and /etc files are based on former version of our package, and the integration and documentation is still incomplete. That's why we release the new package for latest snapshot release.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Current Status ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Type Card Status Driver ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethernet 3Com Etherlink III 3C589 OK nep 3Com Etherlink III 3C589B OK nep 3Com Etherlink III 3C589C OK nep Accton EN2212 OK ed Contec C-NET(PC)C OK fe Dayna Communications CommuniCard E OK ed D-link DE-650 Ethernet Card OK ed Eiger Labs EPX-ET10T2 Combo OK ed Farallon EtherMac OK nep Fujitsu FMV-J181 OK fe Fujitsu FMV-J182 OK fe Fujitsu FMV-J182A OK fe GVC NIC-2000P Ethernet Card OK ed Hitachi HT-4840-11 OK fe IC-card Ethernet OK ed IBM Creditcard Ethernet I OK ed IBM Creditcard Ethernet II OK ed Megahertz Ethernet Adapter OK sn Megahertz X-Jack Ethernet OK sn Melco LPC-T OK ed NextCom J Link NC5310 OK fe PLANET Smart Com 2000 OK ed PLANET Smart Com 3500 OK ed RATOC REX-9821 OK fe TDK LAK-CD021 OK fe TDK LAK-CD021A OK fe FAX/Modem Virtually all modem card should work sio *1 (but it still does not work on some machines...) EHDD170 and Flash Packer are not fully tested. I checked only 'fdisk wd1' works. XJ2144-81 and RC144ACL sometimes work, but mostly does not work with message "sio2: probe test x failed." Reset time was changed to 10000, but the condition was not improved. The slot 2 and 3 of PCMCIA/FD dock works fine. On the boot sequence, the kernel sometimes panic with page fault after detecting fdc0. It is seems that the frequency of kernel panic changes depend on the kernel configuration. =========================================================================== Name : Takuro Tokuyama (tokuyama@telecom.mci.mei.co.jp) Machine : ThinkPad 230Cs (CPU Intel 486SX 33MHz, HDD 250MB, RAM 12MB) FreeBSD : OK (2.1.0 (R)) Pccard Pkg: pccard-test-960414 APM BIOS : OK (1.00) Config Opt: TP230 PCIC : VLSI 83C146 Cards : - IBM Push/Pop Modem(14.4K) config 0x23 "sio2" pio - NextCom J Link Ethernet Card =========================================================================== Name : Tomoyuki Miki (t_miki@os.rim.or.jp) Machine : NEC PC-9821 Nx/C7 (CPU i486DX/4 100MHz, HDD 720MB (WindowsNT 200MB, Windows95 300MB, FreeBSD 188MB), RAM 15.6MB) FreeBSD : OK (2.1.0 RELEASE (98) ALPHA) Pccard Pkg: 960414 APM BIOS : NG PCIC : Cirrus Logic PD-672x Cards : - 3Com Etherlink III PCMCIA 3C589C # 3Com Etherlink III 3C589B, 3C589C card "3Com Corporation" "3C589" config 0x1 "nep0" 10 insert echo 3Com Etherlink III inserted insert /etc/pccard_ether $device remove echo 3Com Etherlink III removed remove /etc/pccard_ether_remove $device - Megahertz X-Jack XJ3288-J FAX/Data Modem # Megahertz X-Jack XJ3288-J FAX/Data Modem card "Megahertz" "XJ3288-81" config 0x23 "sio2" pio insert echo Megahertz XJ3288-J Modem inserted remove echo Megahertz XJ3288-J Modem removed - Adaptec SlimSCSI APA-1460 # Adaptec SlimSCSI card "Adaptec, Inc." Using the hacked Cirrus driver Erik Anders together with the latest XFree86 sources works well with 8 and 16 bit visuals. The 3C589C ethernet card performs really well. I can easily saturate a ethernet with it. The modem card works equally well. I had to insert a sleep in rc.pccard to let the cards get configured before netstart tried to start the net. =========================================================================== Name : Atsuo Ohki (ohki@gssm.otsuka.tsukuba.ac.jp) Machine : Digital HiNote Ultra C475 (CPU I486DX4, HDD 520MB, RAM 16MB) FreeBSD : OK (2.2-960323-SNAP) Pccard Pkg: 960414 APM BIOS : OK (1.1) Config Opt: NONE PCIC : PD6710 Cards : - Mitsubishi M6887-3 170MB ATA Disk card card "INTEGRAL PERIPHERAL" "ATA CARD" config 0x03 "wdc1" 15 - Mitsubishi B8899 Fax Modem card "MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC" "B8899" config 0x23 "sio1" 11 - 3Com EtherLink III 3C589B card "3Com Corporation" "3C589" config 0x01 "nep0" 10 - HP Flash Memory Card card "SunDisk" "SDP5" config 0x03 "wdc1" 15 Misc Info : Every ATA Disk Card I tested are manufactured by INTEGRAL PERIPHERALS, and work with the same configuration. =========================================================================== Name : Atsuo Ohki (ohki@gssm.otsuka.tsukuba.ac.jp) Machine : Mitsubishi Amity/VC (CPU I486DX2, HDD 340MB, RAM 24MB) FreeBSD : OK (2.2-960323-SNAP) Pccard Pkg: 960414 APM BIOS : NG (1.1) Config Opt: NONE PCIC : RICOH RF5C396 Cards : - Mitsubishi M6887-3 170MB ATA Disk card card "INTEGRAL PERIPHERAL" "ATA CARD" config 0x03 "wdc1" 15 - Mitsubishi B8899 Fax Modem card "MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC" "B8899" config 0x23 "sio1" 9 - 3Com EtherLink III 3C589B card "3Com Corporation" "3C589" config 0x01 "nep0" 10 Misc Info : The internal hard disk is actually an ATA Disk Card. Works fine with VGA 16 server but have been unable to get it working with XF86_SVGA dispite support for other chips in the family. Comments in code suggest that CLGD62X5 support is not well tested. Very nice subnotebook. =========================================================================== Name : Koichi Yasuda (koichi@tama.prug.or.jp) Machine : IBM Think Pad 230Cs FBW (CPU i486DX2 50MHz, HDD 540MB, RAM 12MB) FreeBSD : OK (2.1.0-R) Pccard Pkg: 960318 APM BIOS : OK (1.0) Config Opt: LAPTOP, TP230FBW, NEPPMHACK PCIC : VLSI 82C146 Cards : - 3Com Etherlink III PCMCIA 3C589B COMB # 3Com Etherlink III 3C589B, 3C589C card "3Com Corporation" "3C589" config 0x1 "nep0" 11 reset 10000 insert echo 3Com Etherlink III inserted insert /etc/pccardether $device remove echo 3Com Etherlink III removed remove /sbin/ifconfig $device delete - Megahertz X-Jack XJ3288J FAX/Modem # Megahertz XJ3288 (JP) card "Megahertz" "XJ3288-81" config 0x23 "sio2" 5 insert echo Megahertz XJ3288 inserted remove echo Megahertz XJ3288 removed NG-Cards : Allied Telesis LA-PCM-T =========================================================================== Name : Julian Elischer (julian@freebsd.org) Machine : TI-Travelmate 4000DX2-50 (CPU 486DX2-50, HDD 150MB, RAM 8MB (4MB works fine)) FreeBSD : FreeBSD works fine after dissableing "Advnced OS Power Saving" without disabling this feature, the floppy doesn't work with BSD (386BSD-0.1->FreeBSD-2.1R) Pccard Pkg: HAS NO PCCARD SLOTS APM BIOS : APM is not in BIOS on this machine.. However, you need to get into windows 95 and within TI-Setup turn Expanded Mode OFF. You also need to TURN OFF your machine in addition to rebooting for the changes to take effect. The only current problem with X-windows is that you cannot switch screens or exit X without losing sync. I have reported this to XFree86. Earlier versions of XFree86 do not work because of lack of support for the Cirrus CLGD-7543. The relevant sections of /etc/XF86Config are: ... for your mouse...
