In article <4mmapr$bq2@kogwy.cc.keio.ac.jp> I wrote: >> ----------------------------------------- >> PC-card (PCMCIA) test package for FreeBSD >> ----------------------------------------- >> >> version 960506 (for 2.2-960501-SNAP) I and some alpha testers (thanks!) found some minor problems of this package. I fixed these bugs and problems, and I put new version of this package (960508) at, ftp://ryukyu.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/pub/FreeBSD/pccard/pccard-test-960508.tar.gz This package contains upgrade patches relative to 960506. Please read 'FreeBSD PCMCIA Driver' webpage, "http://www.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/person/hosokawa/freebsd-pcmcia/" for details. I think that 2.2-960501-SNAP (it's great!) + pccard-test-960508 is very useful environment for laptop PC users. 960508 has experimental PC-card suspend/resume support (one of the bugs I found yesterday is about this new feature). If you configure APM driver and add "options APM_PCCARD_RESUME" into config file, most PC-cards can automatically survive suspend/resume operations. I tested this new feature on my Digital Hinote Ultra CS433 with Ethernet Cards (Megahertz X-Jack Ethernet XJ-10BT, Planet SmartCom 3500) and FAX/modem cards (Megahertz X-Jack XJ2144 and Megahertz X-Jack XJ3288-J). If you login to your laptop machine via Ethernet and type 'zzz', it sleeps by remote operation. If you push power button of the laptop, PC-card Ethernet interface is automatically reconfigured and TCP connection comes back again. So you can see your prompt below the line you typed 'zzz' :-). Enjoy! -- HOSOKAWA, Tatsumi E-mail: hosokawa@mt.cs.keio.ac.jp WWW homepage: http://www.mt.cs.keio.ac.jp/person/hosokawa.html Department of Computer Science, Keio University, Yokohama, Japan
