It rather smells like a problem with the AIC-6360 driver.  I don't
think you'll find a solution short of using a better SCSI controller.

Sorry to say, but the aic driver looks rather like beta code that
never finished.  I don't know of anybody offhand in the development
team who has such a SCSI adaptor, so the driver is basically
``orphaned''.
