Did you type rm -rf /usr/src ???

It sounds like something I did when preparing a "virgin" system to install the
patchkit.  However some of /usr/src/sys386bsd is in the bin01 distribution.

Try extracting the usr/src/sys386bsd/* files from the bin01 dist, then all 
*should* work fine.
