I just want to express my appreciation of the work the freebsd.org
has done on freebsd. On Intel I have run the following UNIX OSs:

        1. Microport V286 (1984-88).
	2. ESIX SYSV3.2 and 4.0 (1989-93).
	3. Small stint of SCO UNIX, 1993, sent it back to SCO.
        4. Unixware 1993-1996
        5. Solaris x86, 1995, tried it and sent it back.
        6. Linux 1995, tied it, network cards and networking tbls
trashed it. NE[1,2}000 series has problems.
        7. FreeBSD 2.1R, 1996 to present. No problems, a fine touch
on the docs would help as well as some gui admin interface
sometime in the future. Solid product, networking great,
lacks some commercial apps WP & SP, but they might come.
I use vi, html, and gui editors in the mean time. I love
this OS and would like to see SMP mature in the next year.

Hell, I have been an AT&T UNIX freak for years, this is my first go
at BSD, for the price/performance ratio, I think this is the best
personal and networking (Intel based) UNIX on the market.

No flames to SCO, Linux, Solaris or Unixware, just my personal
experience.

My hardware: Tyan Dual Pent 133MZ, 64MB RAM, ATI Graphics Pro,
Toshiba 3601 4X CD, HP 35480 DAT, Archive 2525S QIC, Segate SCSI-2,
Fujitsu Wide SCSI-3.

Keep up the good work.

-Ron
