I'm glad Apple is owning up to their sub-par units and are actually doing something and backing it up with up to a 7 year warranty. If you look at the PC's and Apples in percentages the quality side is on the Apple's side. Also, the JD Powers surveys indicate owners of Apple machines are very satisfied with them. I don't excuse Apple for this quality shortcomings however, and I see that Amelio is going to act right now on these shortcomings. My company has bought plenty pc's over the last year from AST, Digital, Invecta (junk), and Dell. 25% of them had to be sent back for defects, and 10% were DOA. Apple has definite quality problems on the models mentioned and there have been ugly and unacceptable horror stories about some of their computers. However, PC's are absolutely no paragon of virtue in terms of quality control. Don't gloat. Ben S.
