: I believe that linux users running WordPerfect are running the SCO
: version which does in fact use Motif, but is statically linked so it
: matters not whether you have Motif. FreeBSD's sco emulation is not
: good enough to run the SCO WordPerfect. More precicely, it isn't
: good enough to run Globtrotter's Flexlm license server. The fact
: that the WordPerfect demo (which doesn't require the license server)
: runs is an indication that if the licence server problem is fixed,
: thin WordPerfect itself would be fine.
:
: I started to look at the problem, but using ktrace on the license
: manager causes a panic and reboot in the May 1st snapshot.
:
: Anyway, this is all a moot point for the original question which
: explicitly stated that WordPerfect was not an option due to cost.

Not to mention the fact that WP isn't terribly functional. I don't
understand people's fascination with paying huge amounts of money
to run an old rev of WP under unix when you can get the latest
rev (still not terribly functional for my tastes) for 1/3 of the
price for windoze. Sure, it's neat that it works, but does
anyone really use the thing?
