"Gut feel" on usage: LOTS on all platforms. I have yet to walk into a cluster that is empty. Our printers print around 20,000 pages a week (except the LaserWriters...). I would say that the Unix labs get the most stress, since almost all the electrical engineering and computer science classes have assignments that use them. Next is probably the PC's, because we have so few and also Command and Conquer runs on them... Because we have so many Macs and also because people have them in their rooms, they get lighter usuage, but like I said "light" is only relative (example - in my cluster today there was a line of people waiting at 8 at night to use machines. Only half of the student body is still on campus...). Usuage is about the same on all platforms. Hope this answers your question. Lastly, like Mr. Seymour said, I make no claims about the validity of my conclusions from the statistics I gave - stats is not my field of specialty... -- Forest +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | Forest Godfrey ag5c+@andrew.cmu.edu| | Penguins in '96! fgodfrey@nyx.cs.du.edu| | Go Badgers!
