One nice thing apache comes with FreeBSD 2.1.0, you get a menu item during the initial installation, that you get to pick apache web server. It does the initial setup, and a first page for you. Very easy! >on this server, which is the best for this... what about counters, perl >scripts or other CGI? I think almost anyone of the will do for this. I know NCSA and apache do a good job, since I run these. For counters look at www.w3.org. This is a site with a ton of web tools! > >I installed CERN, and it seems OK... but are there problems that I should >watch out for? > >Peace, >Blake P.S. If you run forms, make sure and get the latest version of the servers, there have been some security bugs in some of the earlier servers. There is also a web page that does side by side comparisons of servers, but I don't remember the address, ( sorry ).
