The operating system whos feet Unix isn't worthy to kiss..... : ??? : You're talking about MS Windows? In my opinion this is not a operating : system. Got it? Don't be silly, I'm referring to the operating system to come.... the operating system that has not yet been designed, but will be designed by FreeBSD/NetBSD..... but it may take a while. : May be you don't believe it, but I am using NetBSD at home - to play with it. Why shouldn't I ? I'm running Windows 3.11, OS/2 Warp Connect, Windows 95 and two different versions of FreeBSD. Windows 95 _IS_ an operating system, it's just misunderstood: Windows 3.11: Nothing to configure. Does nothing. Crashes doing it. Windows 95: A user can configure it. Does many things. Crashes sometimes. OS/2 Connect: A competent user can configure it. Does _most_ things. Crashes occasionally. FreeBSD: A computer professional can configure it. Does _almost_ (potentially _absolutely_) everything. Crashes almost never. IMO (although I'm not quite qualified to say so), NetBSD is the same class as FreeBSD, Windows NT fits in between OS/2 & FreeBSD, and DOS is the same class as Windows 3.11. : > : >: > : >: >Jeremy : > : >: Henry : > : >: -- : >: juengst@saph1.physik.uni-bonn.de [131.220.161.1] (Internet) : >: omni:.de.uni-bonn.physik.saph1::juengst (DECnet/OSI, phase V) : >: saph1::juengst [26.358] (DECnet, phase IV) : > : >: Any opinions in this mail are my own. : > : >Not any more, my opinions are my own ! : > : >-- : >Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> : >Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour.... : Never :-) : Henry : -- : juengst@saph1.physik.uni-bonn.de [131.220.161.1] (Internet) : omni:.de.uni-bonn.physik.saph1::juengst (DECnet/OSI, phase V) : saph1::juengst [26.358] (DECnet, phase IV) : Any opinions in this mail are my own. -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour....
