Okay, after a month and a half of wrangling with Linux and FreeBSD
I finally get FreeBSD 2.1 to work with my hardware (Linux refused).
Now, a friend tells me that CTRL-ALT-DEL should be trapped by the
system and execute a shutdown -r now. It doesn't. My partitions
are gone. So I have a question: how does one trap the CTRL-ALT-DEL
so that it won't trash my system? Can the partitions be
re-constructed without rebuilding my system? (I doubt it so I am
planning on re-installing). Also, somehow I'd managed to get X
on without it putting anything in X11/config so I had problems
when I tried to port fvwm. Which option is needed for this?
Anyway, while I did a net install the first time, now that I know
FreeBSD works with my system, I plan on getting the CD-ROM. This
will allow me to grab anything I need and accidently didn't install.
I guess my main question is the CTRL-ALT-DEL combination. It is
simply too dangerous to leave in its current state. Thanks for
any help you can give.
- Mike
