I understand that to use parallel ports requires a kernel rebuild...Ok. So I'll live with serial ports. I have both a HP LJII and a Postscript carridge. Would someone in the know please post the process? Thanks in advance. I believe that "we" need proper /etc/printcap file entry (ies). Also, what about output filters for postscript? or do you just send output in some "raw" print mode? I'm looking at the SMM.06.lpd manual. Lots of detail but what order do the operations take place. ....Mark Mark Ganter/Univ of Washington/Dept of Mech Engr/FU-10/Seattle, WA 98195 USA ganter@u.washington.edu
