I get the error as the final phase of kernel load happens.

panic: Nobody wants to mount my root.

I realy had a giggle at that!! 8-)

This after building a newer leaner kernel that kernel.GENERIC.

The basic config is:-
162Mb IDE (DOS/Win)
IDE Mode 4 CDROM (Won't work with atapi.flp)
992Mb SCSI on aha 1542
8Mb RAM
40Mhz 386 + 387

I boot from a floppy and enter hd(1,a)/kernel  (or /kern after a failure)

Help for this tired AIX rs/6k systems programmer would be appreciated.
