Any information would be greatly appreciated. Yes, always! (well, not always, just a P&B quote). FreeBSD (and NetBSD) support multiple addresses on a single ethernet card through the 'ifconfig alias' option. The ifconfig man page documents this reasonably well. Aliases can be added or deleted on the fly. Under either OS you can add around 50 aliases without problems, beyond that things get a little sticky- Many virtual host capable server software will start to have problems, and at around 60 aliases, NetBSD crashes. -- |AT MOTOROLA CIG | ON THE INTERNET | IN REAL LIFE |kadow@cig.mot.com | kadow@msg.net | Kevin Kadow |www.cig.mot.com/~kadow/ | http://www.msg.net/ | 'That blond guy wearing grey' |Network Team, ITS | Internet Consultant | Cynical Libertarian
