Network connectivity is still hosed for you somehow (due to misconfiguration or some other lossage) and it's hanging up as it tries to transfer the bits. I actually doubt this is it, hoever. 2. Your system is simply crashing during the install while trying to write to your new FreeBSD partition. You need to tell us a little more about your configuration now, as well as the area of your HD you're trying to install it on.
