If you don't have the disk space to recompile the entire system, -current is not recommendable at all. (If something is broken, which is not unusual for a development platform, the general advise for you will be: ``Try this and that.'', meaning you'll get a source code patch to integrate. Very obviously, this will require the source around.) If you wanna play with the most recent bits despite of this, better install one of the SNAPs.
