I'm running the Teles 16.3 card now with an alpha version of Teles driver. It supports HDLC framing as protocol. Wait for the bisdn driver which will be out in about 2 weeks. This should perhaps address your needs. The performance using HDLC proto is bland, getting about 7.5 KB/sec between 2 FreeBSD-current boxes.
